Falame was shown as a yearling at the SA Champs for a top 5 award in the yearling filly and also a second in her yearling futurity.  She was then allowed to grow until i decided to join her with the straight egyptian sire Ali Kamar (Imp iid USA) as a three year old to produce the lovely filly Faridah.

Falame and Karen in the Whip cracking section of the Mundulla Stockmans Challenge, we got 3 out of 6 targets!

At 5yo she was broken in by the talented Steven Burke of Qld and her saddle career has flourished since then.

Falame has been a very consistent ridden mare.

My children have ridden her at Pony Club in various activities and she is safe for pony rides too as seen here inbetween campdrafting classes.

Her first ever competition was a stockmans challenge incorporating Cutting, campdrafting and a dry pattern.  Considering she was newly started she competed quietly and confidently in all areas, even giving pony rides to adults that had never ridden before.

From there we have entered several local challenges garnering a few ribbons here and there.  Our best result so far has been the Penola Stockhorse Pentathlon show in the Open section.  Up until the jumping section we were leading with a win in halter, a second in ridden hack and a third in working stockhorse.  We still managed a fourth overall against very seasoned competitors.

We have dabbled in Dressage too with the local dressage club with the SE Country Dressage Championships 2005,  fifth placing overall in Preliminary.

Our latest endeavours have been learning about the sport of reining.  We have hosted a couple of schools with the talented trainer Glenn Browitt and hope to start competing in the lower grades one day.

Until this past weekend i have struggled to show Falames beautiful arabian type in photos.  She is one that prefers to stay in the background letting others take the limelight.  I am so thrilled with the following photos, as they do portray what i see everyday, and I thank my wonderful friends for enabling me to share these moments of Falame with you.  Thankyou my beautiful children, Mark, Lizzy and Kelli. x

Endurance Record 2009

Falame has had a successful first season to Endurance.

Heart Rates have always been excellent even when within 10 minutes of dismounting as was the case in our first 80km.

She has always carried me and my heavy western saddle with ease, apart from one very hilly and boggy strenuous ride where we vetted out with sore hamstrings.

To see her records and photos go to our news page.
