New Arrivals 2016

November and December has seen the purchase of a few new ponies!

Amaranda Cherie and her colt foal by Amaranda Hanky Panky, were purchased for their incredible pedigrees and type.

Cherie is a buckskin roan and her grand dam is the beautiful Weston Choice Imp UK.  She has an incredible pedigree full of well performed ponies.  Cheries Palomino roan colt brings some more Trentlyn/Weston into our program being by Amaranda Hanky Panky (Trentlyn Platinum x Amaranda Tutti Fruitti)  They arrive in SA early Jan!

Llangollen Chit Chat and her colt by Llangollen Top Hat arrived middle December!  Both are beautiful and further my fledgling Welsh A breeding program.  I bought Chit Chat because i loved Trentlyn Aristrcrats (Imperial Maestro x Criban Aye Bee) progeny.    I love the fact she has one beautiful blue eye!  She is only 4yo so am going to enjoy watching her mature into a beautiful white mare.

Elargee Trendy Miss joins our broodmare band as well!  She has been bred to Friars Tearaway Imp UK for a 2017 foal!!  So excited!  Trendy has been very successful in the show ring with being awarded Supreme Champion Welsh at the 2011 Royal Melbourne Show as well as 2015 Victorian Feature Show Champion Welsh Female!  Trendy is by a stallion that blew me away when i first laid eyes on him, Brecon Bach Soldier Poppy Imp NZ!  A stunning stallion that was the best mover i have seen for some time!

40TH VICTORIAN ALL WELSH

Wow what an experience this was, my first and my first with 2 ponies!

I was lucky Steve and Stacey Renton were able to take Elargee True Love and Bamborough Annabella for me as i wasnt sure i was going to be able to attend.  Thankfully though i was in the end, and was able to do it as an observer and photographer!

Bella didnt place in her class but i was very pleased with how she performed and behaved!  Totally relaxed and as long as she had food and pats she was happy.  Love was unsettled at first arrival but once she knew she wasnt abandoned and saw us she settled and ate and drank!  She showed really well and was awarded 5th place in a large class!!

Big thanks to the Rentons and Michelle for being a wonderful travel partner!

The foals have now arrived and new ones are being made!

All the foals are now here and what an incredible beautiful lot they are!

Marconi Gold Makers foals have exceeded my expectations!

He has consistently added type and kept the quality from the mares.  Temperaments are what i am used to with sweet cheeky natures!

They also love to strut and flip the tail up!  So delightful to watch!

Marconi Dreamtime has not disapointed with his three foals, two for me and one a clients beautiful well performed mare.

The first an incredible palomino filly out of my Straight Egyptian mare Kuhaylan Nakala, the first Straight Egyptian Arabian cross.

One word, WOW!!

And shes going to be tall too, i expect at least 14.2hh!!  So incredibly beautiful to boot!

Our much anticipated SP Ibn Sataaras foals, both fillies!!!

Incredible fillies too, both in the image of their dams, but with height and the big black eye and lovely length of rein.  Lots of height!!

Both should be 15.2hh and over!

Both will also be for sale, I have so many incredible females now i am happy to share with you all!

The foals are arriving!

Sheridan Park Arabians with their new young charges

Sheridan Park Twilight is owned by Vanessa Hopkins but due to Uni demands she has leased her to young Mia!

This was Mia and Twilights first outing at a INterschool gymkana and twilight looked after her young charge very well!

Lots more fun and exciting things for the future for these two!!

SP Symphony and her young owner Paige also at their first Interschool gymkana, and as you can see symmy and Paige did well!

Most importantly though symmy was perfectly behaved allowing Paige to have a fantastic fun time!

Cross country apparently beckons!!

Sheridan Park Faanya is now Olivias new mount!  Olivia is 12yo and has just out grown her pony and thankfully we were suggested to the family and the rest is history!

Faanya is just loving being doted on by the whole family and many good things will come from this partnership in the future!!

RIP MUM

May 8th saw the passing of my mother, Coral Gladigau.

She was my back up, my helper, always there in the background, making her wonderful food for us to eat after a horse activity.  Making sure we were always ok.  Just being mum.

If Roses grow in heaven,

Lord please pick a bunch for me,

Place them in my mothers arms

and tell her they're from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

but theres an ache withing my heart

that will never go away.

The Main Event and Adelaide Royal

I entered Aishah Azimah and Sheridan Park Aaliyah in 2 A class shows.  The Main Event and the Autumn Adelaide Royal!

Aishah unfortunately stressed terribly with the stabling, which i didnt realise until the night before the show as i prepped her in the paddock. it was sad to watch her distress.  She was however happy to be shown by Amber without a whip which we had worked on over the few months she was with us.

She was top 5 at the Main Event and Reserve Champion Purebred at the Adelaide Royal.

Sheridan Park Aaliyahs first show was The Main Event and she was awarded Supreme Junior Purebred!!

She was 2nd in her class at the Adelaide Royal which was her first outdoors show!

SHERIDAN PARK IBN SATAARA

Sheridan Park Ibn Sataara (Abraxas Amir exp Sa x Sataara Imp USA).  Stefano as a 2yo has been wooing mares this season!

The photos show how his leg has healed, no lameness whatsoever at any time.  Hes blossoming from a colt into a stallion being allowed to run with his mares.  He is very quiet, especially with the mares and takes his time to get the job done safely and quietly.  No screaming, striking or rushing.

The photos are from October 2014 to March 2015

January Adelaide   Fires

January 6th at Sheridan Park at Birdwood SA.

2015 has been a very traumatic year, one of extreme highs and lows.   The Adelaide fires burned just 6kms away, luckily the wind swings bypassed the farm.  The decision to not move the horses was made, the spring season had ended very abruptly leaving little hay and little pastures so a lot of the paddocks were quite bare already.  The horses and ponies were shuffled around into the safest paddocks and we made the decision to evacuate ourselves over night, returning in the morning to feed up and check everyone.

Thankfully a massive downpour eased the threat a few days later and we were able to return home again, breathing a big sigh of relief.
